- Full-time, Days shifts, 3 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Electrophysiology (EP) lab.
- Read and interpret ECG strips; titrate medication drips as needed.
- Assist with a variety of cardiac procedures including TAVR, MITRACLIP, STEMI, NSTEMI, HF, congenital cases, and peripheral interventions.
- Utilize EPIC EMR system and operate GE and Philips monitors and McKesson equipment.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and support staff to ensure smooth procedure flow and patient safety.
- Serve as charge nurse or on-call nurse as per shift requirements, including weekends, holidays, and emergent situations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid active Illinois nursing license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Experience reading ECG strips and titrating drips.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and handle on-call responsibilities.
- Last four digits of SSN and middle initial.
- Confirmation that application process has been initiated for Illinois license.
- Understanding of drug-free campus policy and negative drug screening.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in IR or familiarity with cath lab equipment and procedures.
- Previous experience working with emergent cardiac cases and on-call scheduling.
- Ability to work with electronic medical records (EPIC) and various monitors.
- Experience in patient care for complex cardiac conditions such as STEMI, NSTEMI, and heart failure.
