Key Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative patient care, including assessments and preparation for surgery.
- Administer medications and monitor patient vitals before procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and efficient preoperative environment.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Document patient information accurately within the EMR system.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, specifically in preoperative or Phase 2 recovery settings.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Ability to take call and stay within 30 minutes of the hospital.
- experience with preop procedures such as Urology, GYN, outpatient infusions, and diagnostics.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with preoperative procedures or assisting preop staff.
- Familiarity with medical equipment such as Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG, Doppler, and bladder scanner.
