Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | 3 Weekend Shifts per 4-Week Period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general Medical-Surgical nursing care to a diverse patient population with diagnoses including COPD, CHF, diabetes, end-stage renal disease, GI disorders, infections, neurological conditions, and mental health disorders

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and maintain inter-professional communication throughout the care continuum

• Manage IV therapy, heparin and insulin drips, wound vacs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and telemetry monitoring

• Utilize electronic health records and unit equipment including IV pumps, Pyxis machines, blood glucose monitoring devices, and heating/cooling pads

• Support patients undergoing procedures such as colonoscopies, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and minor surgeries

• Float to other medical units as needed; maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6

Required Qualifications

• Active Indiana RN license or valid compact RN license

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in a Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care setting

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a facility of 600 or more beds

• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records

• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience floating across multiple medical-surgical units in a large hospital environment

• Familiarity with Hospira IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing systems, and telemetry monitoring

• Prior experience managing complex drip management including heparin and insulin protocols
