Key Responsibilities
- Develop an overall view of patients, families, and caregivers by establishing strong partnerships dedicated to optimal care.
- Facilitate the delivery of optimal patient care through delegation, facilitation, collaboration, critical thinking, and prioritization.
- Manage the care environment and ensure effective communication across all members of the healthcare team.
- Independently plan and provide professional nursing care in accordance with physician orders, established hospital and departmental policies, and applicable nursing standards and practice acts.
- Uphold compliance with the American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice, the Indiana Nurse Practice Act, and the ANA Code of Ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required upon hire (as of June 1, 2021).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a NICU specialty setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit-specific needs.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience within a NICU or similar specialty care environment.
- Experience with care coordination and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
- Familiarity with quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based nursing practices.
