Key Responsibilities
- Perform polysomnography studies and score records in accordance with clinical standards
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of sleep testing equipment
- Evaluate patients for sleep-related breathing disorders and other sleep abnormalities, including seizure disorders and narcolepsy
- Complete clinical documentation and related clerical work to support all operational aspects of the Sleep Disorders Center
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program, the A-STEP program from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, or a CAAHEP-accredited program
- Must hold one of the following credentials: RPSGT (from the BRPT), SDS (from the NBRC), or RST (from the American Board of Sleep Medicine)
- Candidates without the RPSGT, RST, or SDS must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) and licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCPC) by the IPLA, with a commitment to pass the RPSGT, RST, or SDS within 1 year of eligibility
- Current Basic CPR certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 1 year of experience working as a Polysomnographer
- 6 months of experience working with pediatric patient populations
