Key Responsibilities

• Perform adult and pediatric transthoracic echocardiograms and store images on the archival system per established policy and procedure.
• Administer echocardiogram contrast when suboptimal images are present and determine the need for contrast enhancement.
• Assist the cardiologist with transesophageal echocardiograms by preparing the patient, recording tomographic views, and adjusting instrumentation.
• Perform treadmill and dobutamine stress echocardiograms in collaboration with the cardiologist and stress testing nurse, including baseline and pre/post stress imaging.
• Maintain a safe testing environment and correctly identify patients using two patient identifiers.
• Complete clerical functions including study review, chart preparation for dictation, and bringing ordered procedures to completed status.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Sonography program.
• ARDMS Certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of cardiovascular sonography experience.
• Ability to perform effective, clear, and respectful verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and contribute to team goals.
