Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Neurology

Contract | Nights (3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | 13–26 week assignments available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
• Maintain a 1:6 patient ratio with a strong emphasis on patient safety and a teamwork-based approach to care
• Utilize Pyxis for medication administration, EPIC for clinical documentation, and SBAR for communication
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements (approximately every other weekend, equating to 5–6 weekend shifts per contract period)
• Float to other units as needed; travelers are expected to float first
• Be available to serve on a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or declared disasters as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending licensure accepted for submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Willingness to float within or near the facility per assignment requirements
• Ability to complete pre-start online orientation modules (approximately 8–10 hours) prior to first day

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale certification or demonstrated neurology nursing experience
• Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
