Key Responsibilities
- Assist the circulating RN with assessment and implementation of care for cardiac catheterization patients, including recognizing drugs and lab values that may contraindicate procedures and relaying information to appropriate personnel.
- Document patient demographics, procedural information, and hemodynamic data accurately in the medical record; continuously monitor and analyze hemodynamic waveforms.
- Assist scrub personnel with equipment acquisition and setup, provide first-line physician assistance during procedures, and maintain sterile technique throughout.
- Monitor and assess radiation safety in accordance with code of practice guidelines and adhere to radiation protection protocols for both personnel and patients.
- Assist with access and administration of medications on and off the sterile field, ensuring all medications and solutions are properly labeled.
- Recognize initial alterations in patient condition, including vital signs and overt physical signs, and communicate findings to the appropriate members of the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Current registration in the state of Kentucky.
- Active BLS certification.
- Active ACLS certification.
- ARRT certification.
- Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Course.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- One (1) year of invasive vascular experience.
