Contract (13–26 weeks) | Days, 4x12-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | On-call required on a rotating basis with staff and agency
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, and rotablader atherectomy
- Assist with cardiac implant closure device placements, cardiac stent placements, and IABP placement and removal
- Scrub procedures and perform equipment setup in the cardiac cath lab environment
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias and interpret dysrhythmias during procedures
- Maintain strict infection control practices including sterile technique and isolation precautions
- Document and chart accurately using Cerner electronic health records system
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required
- Active Illinois license required at time of submission — pending licenses not accepted
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT, and RCIS (AHA or Red Cross only; RQI cards not accepted)
- Experience in both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings
- Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records
- Competency with middle and older adult patient populations
Preferred Experience / Skills
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Experience with a high-volume, acute care cath lab environment
- Familiarity with a Level I trauma center or Magnet-designated facility
