Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including care for neonatal and pediatric patients
• Deliver specialized care in the NICU at Level 4 acuity, managing complex neonatal respiratory needs
• Support cardiac PICU patients as part of a multidisciplinary care team
• Participate in a self-scheduling model with flexibility to accommodate staff preferences where operationally possible
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
• Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as assigned during onboarding

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
• Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required; pending licenses accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before the Wednesday prior to the start date — candidate must hold an active license in another state to be eligible for a temporary Virginia license
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for select units per facility policy)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) credential preferred
