Full-Time, Permanent | Rotating shifts including days and weekends (40 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial triage and comprehensive assessments for patients of all ages presenting for urgent care services, including history of present illness, vital signs, immunization status, and preventative health needs
• Administer therapeutic measures including medications (oral, topical, IM, SQ, intradermal, and IV push/infusion); initiate, maintain, monitor, and discontinue IV access and therapy
• Document assessments, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, and patient education accurately in the EMR system; evaluate and document patient comprehension
• Coordinate patient referrals, track referral progress and outcomes, proactively identify delays or obstacles to care, and serve as a primary link for case managers and referral coordinators
• Maintain a clean, safe, and adequately stocked work environment; adhere to infection control policies and report safety hazards immediately
• Respond to emergency situations in a triage role and may serve as vaccine coordinator or secondary vaccine coordinator for the clinic

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; eligible to sit for the NCLEX
• Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state (direct hire candidates must have applied for an Alaska nursing license prior to start date; agency staff must hold an active Alaska license)
• Minimum of 2 years of general nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ambulatory or urgent care clinic setting
• Clinical Competency Assessment required within 3 months of hire and every three years thereafter
• High Risk Competency required within 3 months of hire and annually thereafter
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (preferred at time of hire)
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and accurate patient data documentation
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Experience providing patient care across diverse populations and age groups
