School Counselor Therapist

SCHOOL COUNSELOR - POSITION OVERVIEW

Florida certification in Guidance and Counseling (grades PK-12) is required

Ideal start date: June 2025 for this year-round, school-based position.
We are seeking a Florida-certified School Counselor to work in a year-round role supporting students and families in a K-8 setting. This position focuses on improving student outcomes through collaboration with educators, families, and school leadership to address social-emotional development, attendance, and student support systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the LEA and coordinate district MRT (Multi-Response Team) meetings
• Support teachers with in-class character education and guidance lessons
• Provide individual or group counseling and implement social-emotional interventions
• Track and improve student attendance through outreach and family collaboration
• Liaise with families and connect them with community resources and programming
• Onboard new families to the school and assist with acclimation
• Oversee summer reading and credit recovery programs (FLVS)
• Plan and execute at least one school-based community event per school year
• Maintain and refine counseling systems to support student initiatives
• Additional duties as directed by school leadership

• Contract position starts at $40/hour+

• Bachelor’s degree and a relevant Master’s degree required for Florida certification
• Valid Florida certification in School Counselor Certification
• Minimum of 1 year of school counseling experience with measurable impact
• Ability to pass a background check as required by law

• 2+ years of experience in K-8 school counseling or K-8 teaching with a record of student success
• Experience developing school-wide systems and building community partnerships
