Occupational Therapist (OT)
Primary Purpose:
To support students' ability to participate in and benefit from the educational environment by evaluating and addressing their fine motor, sensory-motor, and functional skills. The Occupational Therapist collaborates with educators and families to implement strategies and interventions that promote students’ independence, access to the curriculum, and success in school-related activities.

Qualifications
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid Florida Occupational Therapy licensure or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience in pediatric or school-based therapy settings is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sensory processing, fine motor development, assistive technology, and adaptive strategies for school-based therapy.
- Familiarity with IEP processes, educational laws, and documentation requirements for school settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Individualized Intervention Plans: Develop and implement tailored intervention strategies based on student needs and educational requirements.
- Direct Therapy Services: Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions, collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school staff to enhance student success.
- IEP Participation: Actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, offering recommendations and documentation to support students' educational goals.
- Comprehensive Evaluations: Conduct assessments to evaluate students' fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, and self-care skills related to their educational performance.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment sessions, progress reports, and ensure compliance with district policies.
- Staff and Family Education: Educate school staff and families on strategies to improve student participation and independence in the classroom.
- Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in school-based occupational therapy practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the school district.
