Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery to join our team at Methodist Children's Hospital. As a Labor and Delivery RN, you will provide high-quality care to expectant mothers and newborns, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for their journey.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to expectant mothers and newborns in the Labor and Delivery unit
• Conduct routine assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement interventions to promote optimal health outcomes
• Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
• Monitor fetal heart rates, perform vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and administer magnesium sulfate as needed
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care, as well as newborn care and parenting techniques
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and unit efficiency

Requirements:

• 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Current TX RN license
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and Fetal Monitor certifications
• Meditech experience preferred
• Ability to circulate cesarean deliveries
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs)
• Certification in Advanced Neonatal Life Support (ANLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Experience with labor and delivery documentation systems
