We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse - Oncology to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care to patients with various types of cancer and blood disorders.
Job Summary:
We are offering a 12-day/night rotating contract for a Registered Nurse - Oncology. This position requires a strong foundation in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing, as well as specialized knowledge in oncology. Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care to patients with various types of cancer and blood disorders, including Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Adult), Amyloidosis, Aplastic Anemia, Chronic Leukemia, Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia, Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Myelodysplastic Syndrome, and Myeloproliferative Disorders • Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and other medications as ordered by physicians • Conduct telemetry monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias, and participate in Rapid Response Teams as needed • Manage feeding tubes, central lines, peripheral lines, and PICC lines • Provide education and support to patients and their families • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans • Stay current with the latest treatment options, technologies, and research in oncology
Requirements:
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment • 1 year of medical-surgical and telemetry experience • 1 year of oncology experience • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred) • Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) certification (required) • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
