Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Tele
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Observation Unit/MS/TELE/ONC. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide high-quality, efficient care to patients with anticipated short lengths of stays, focusing on stabilization and preparation for discharge within two midnights.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care to patients with various diagnoses, including dehydration and electrolyte abnormalities, nausea and vomiting, chemotherapy/radiation symptom management, acute kidney injury, palliative/pain control, urinary tract infection, syncope, post-procedure care, and transition to hospice. • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, utilizing telemetry and MS/TELE skills to monitor patients' conditions. • Start and manage IVs, PICC lines, and other medical devices as needed. • Interpret dysrhythmias and other abnormal heart rhythms. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including APPs and supervising MDs, to ensure comprehensive care. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
Requirements:
• 2 years of minimum experience as a Registered Nurse. • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certifications preferred. • Strong telemetry, MS/TELE, and assessment skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to float to other units as needed.

Work Environment:
• The Observation Unit/MS/TELE/ONC is a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a focus on providing high-quality, efficient care. • The unit is staffed with a ratio of 1:4, with a charge nurse in each assignment. • Available resources include RNs, PCAs, and UCAs.
