Tech - MRI Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate MRI Technologist to join our team at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure. Key Responsibilities:

• Care for patients while operating equipment to produce high-quality images for radiologist interpretation • Execute proper imaging protocol/technique for all examinations • Position patients and provide procedure information to ensure a safe and comfortable experience • Comply with all regulatory requirements in providing safe and appropriate care • Operate and maintain equipment, including the GE Signa Artist (1.5T) and GE Signa Architect (3T) MRI machines • Utilize EMR/PACS navigation and McKesson PACS System for accurate patient data management • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care

Required Skills and Experience:

• 1 year of MR experience • Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and software • Strong technical skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication and patient care skills

Certifications and Licensures:

• ARRT or ARMRIT certification • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification • Other relevant certifications may be required

Work Schedule and Flexibility:

• Flexible shift schedule, including first shift (7am-7:30pm) and third shift (7pm – 7:30am) • Depend on department needs; may include weekend and call requirements • Opportunities for floating to other units and departments within the Medical Center

Work Environment:

• Located within a Level 1 trauma center • Scans a combination of outpatients and inpatients • Works with a wide variety of patients, including those under sedation and anesthesia • Performs numerous protocols, both routine and complex, in Neuro, Body, and MSK designations • Safely scans implants, including pacemakers, stimulators, and aneurysm clips
