We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse - Infusion to join our team at SEARHC. As a Registered Nurse - Infusion, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care, managing infusion therapies, and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate and oversee infusion patient referrals, ensuring seamless continuation of care • Coordinate appointment scheduling, post-test results, and communication with referring providers and infusion patients • Monitor infusion patient conditions, report concerns, and document relevant information in the patient's chart • Supervise clinic staff, providing guidance and support to optimize daily infusion patient care flow and resource utilization • Participate in staff development activities to maintain current professional knowledge and licensure • Assess and prepare infusion patients' needs, ensuring prior authorization is initiated as needed • Administer specialty IV fluids via peripherally or centrally placed catheters, following infusion order sets and facility guidelines • Maintain IV access devices, identify and diagnose problems, and evaluate patient health issues • Educate patients and families about post-discharge care programs and develop plans of care • Participate in patient care meetings, review plans of care, and maintain a safe and therapeutic patient care environment • Provide guidance and direction to healthcare team members, ensuring quality patient care • Stay current on advances in oncology/infusion nursing care through education programs and maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, infection control, and safety precautions
Requirements:
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state • Direct Hire must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before start date • Agency staff must have an active Alaska license • High school diploma or equivalent required • 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred, with prior experience in specialty care preferred • Knowledge of regulatory agencies' documentation requirements and ability to accurately document clinical data • Knowledge of nursing specifications related to specialties, including pediatrics, internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, mental health, geriatrics, and palliative medicine
