We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical to join our team. As a valued member of our healthcare team, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care, education, and support to our staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Provide clinical support and education to nursing staff, patients, and families
  • Develop and implement educational programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based practice standards of care
  • Analyze patient data to identify clinical practice gaps and develop interventions to address them
  • Serve as a clinical practice resource and mentor to nursing staff
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and staff to ensure seamless care delivery

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure for the state of Alaska
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
  • High Risk Competency - SEARHC
  • Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care settings
  • Sound knowledge of clinical practice standards and procedures
  • Experience with electronic health records systems
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Work Environment:

  • Acute care hospital setting
  • Moderate noise level
  • Exposure to infectious disease and biohazards
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and/or move a minimum of 50 lbs independently

Safety and Risk Management Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for complying with safe work rules
  • Reports all accidents and injuries immediately per policy
  • Cooperates in all accident and injury investigations per policy
  • Reports defective equipment and unsafe conditions
  • Adheres and promotes the adherence of infection control guidelines
  • Adheres and promotes the adherence of regulatory standards, such as OSHA
