About the Unit:
Our Labor and Delivery unit is a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you'll have the opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals to provide high-quality patient care. With 9 beds in our Labor and Delivery unit, 8 beds in our Postpartum unit, and 2 operating room suites, we're equipped to handle a wide range of obstetric and gynecologic procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to pregnant women and new mothers, including labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Conduct routine assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and monitor patient progress
- Administer medications, including pain management options, and provide education to patients and families
- Participate in code blue responses, high-risk deliveries, and other emergency situations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic medical records (EMRs)
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and unit efficiency
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure in the state of Virginia
- OB experience required
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certification
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cesarean sections, including circulator, 1st assist, and scrub roles
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and perinatal-specific software

Dress Code:
- Scrubs provided by the facility
Weekends and On-Call:
- 4 weekend shifts per week, with days on Saturday and Sunday
- No call requirement for travel staff, but opportunities for extra shifts may arise
