Location: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, Centennial-Frisco, [City, State]

Patient Ratios: Varies based on acuity Number of Beds: 9 L&D rooms; 2 OR’s

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for overseeing patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. You will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans, and provide therapeutic connections with patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs • Create, implement, and evaluate care plans to achieve desired outcomes • Build relationships, manage discomfort, and stay professional in therapeutic connections with patients and families • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices • Assess and document learning needs regularly • Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan • Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly • Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff • Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery

Requirements:

• Grad of an Accredited Program • Specialized field of study in nursing • RN license • Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role • 2 years of recent, full-time experience in L&D, Mother Baby experience is a plus
