LVN / LPN - Correctional: Making a Difference in the Lives of Inmates
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a correctional facility. As an LVN/LPN - Correctional, you will play a vital role in providing medical care and support to inmates, while also contributing to the overall well-being of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct medical assessments and evaluations of inmates, including taking vital signs, performing physical exams, and ordering diagnostic tests as needed • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the medical needs of inmates • Provide basic and advanced life support, including cardiac arrest management and oxygen therapy • Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed by physicians • Collaborate with correctional staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care • Document medical records accurately and efficiently • Participate in facility-wide initiatives to improve health and wellness programs • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to OSHA and CDC guidelines
Requirements:
• Current LVN/LPN license in the state of employment • At least 1 year of experience in a correctional or healthcare setting (LPNs may be considered for this role with 6 months of experience) • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
