Shift: 7P-7A, 13 weeks
About the Unit:
Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 42-bed facility that provides high-quality care to newborns and premature infants. Our team of dedicated healthcare professionals is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the growth and development of our young patients.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the NICU. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer medications and EMB using the 5 patient rights • Provide safe and appropriate care for patients with various medical conditions, including those with NG/OG tubes, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Nasal Cannulas, PIV’s, PICC’s, and UAC/UVC • Safely care for patients 22 weeks and above • Understand and utilize all equipment in the NICU • Promote safe sleeping practices for premature infants • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes
Requirements:
• Safe medication administration, including calculation of medications • Administer medications and EMB using the 5 patient rights • Appropriate handling of EMB • Care of patients with NG/OG tubes • Follow feeding orders and recommendations from OT/ST • Care for patients with CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Nasal Cannulas • Care for patients with PIV’s, PICC’s, UAC/UVC • Safely care for patients 22 weeks and above • Understands use of all equipment in the NICU • Promotes safe sleeping at 32-34 gestation • Can demonstrate developmentally appropriate care when handling preterm infant • Proficient in lab draws • Knowledgeable in escalating patient concerns • Experience with ETT, Vent’s Jet’s, Cooling, Surgical patients (preferred)
Certifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
