Here is the formatted job description: **Registered Nurse - Psychiatric** **Location:** Plattsburgh, NY **Schedule:** Nights **Job Type:** Travel, Full-time **Required Qualifications:** • AHA BLS certification • Prior travel experience required • Work History from similar size facility as well as Trauma II or higher • Epic experience from within the past 2 years (nonnegotiable) • New York license, or proof of application with applied date, required **Key Responsibilities:** • Lead therapeutic group activities and assist patients with Activities of Daily Living • Participate in verbally de-escalating patients and responding physically to situations as needed • Gather patient vital signs and document patient information in EPIC • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care **Working Conditions:** • Private rooms with all amenities • No block schedules • Bi-weekly orientations • Reliable transportation recommended • Vehicles with all-season or snow tires required during November-April **Certifications and Training:** • CPI or PMCS certification preferred **Unit Information:** • Adult and Child/Adolescent units with 18 beds and daily census of 11 and 6-8, respectively • Behavioral Decision Unit (BDU) embedded in ER • Teaching facility with opportunities for professional growth and development **Requirements and Considerations:** • Must work 2 out of 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, and New Years Day/Eve • Nursing staff-to-patient ratio: 1:6 on adult and 1:5 on Child/Adolescent units • Patient care modality: Acute care with 7-10 day stay
