**Registered Nurse - PACU**

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team
• Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care
• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and document according to policy
• Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care
• Assume responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Complete patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards
**Requirements:**
• Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast-paced environment
• At least one 13-week previous travel assignment required
• Two (2) years current experience required in specialty
**Preferred Qualifications:**
• EPIC experience; can train on-site
• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
• BLS certification completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• PALS certification completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Traveler must pass the BCA (basic cardiac arrhythmias) testing during the first week of assignment. Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed.
