**About the Role:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Operating Room. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing safe and quality patient care during the intraoperative period.
**Key Responsibilities:**
• Participate in a culture of excellence and adhere to the Service and Behavioral Standards document
• Assess patient status during pre-op interview and on a continuing basis
• Provide safe and therapeutic quality care to patients using the nursing process and nursing diagnosis
• Document interventions and patient responses
• Ensure provision of patient care in an organized and timely manner
• Utilize nursing care standards when planning and implementing patient care
• Communicate patient conditions to surgeons, anesthesia staff, management, and other staff as needed
• Safely carry out physician’s orders and document all activities
• Assist Anesthesia staff as needed
• Display understanding of patient’s cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturity in assessments, treatment, and care
• Participate in orientation and training of new employees
• Maintain competencies to function in RN role within specific area
• Protect sedated and anesthetized patients from safety hazards and maintain privacy and body temperature
• Demonstrate expertise in safety principles, asepsis, sterile technique, and universal precautions
• Assess, anticipate, and implement appropriate care throughout the surgical process
**Requirements:**
• Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing
• Current unencumbered State of Oregon license as a Registered Nurse
• Current CPR certification, ACLS or ability to obtain ACLS within six (6) months of hire date
• Minimum of one (1) year OR experience; multispecialty preferred; CNOR preferred
• One (1) or more years of experience in an acute care hospital; preferred
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required
• PALS certification, preferred
**Working Conditions:**
• Moderate noise level
• Exposed to patient and environmental conditions, and some unpleasant sights, smells, and contagious diseases
