Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Location Albuquerque, NM Schedule / Job Type Nights Key Responsibilities: • Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. • Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients. • Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. • Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient/family and healthcare team. • Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care. • Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy. • Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care. • Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel. • Completes patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards. Required Qualifications: • Two (2) years current experience required in large ED. • Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to fast paced environment. • Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. Preferred Experience / Skills: • Epic experience preferred, but not required; can train on-site. Required Education: • One of the following is required: • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN). • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN). Required Certifications & Licensure: • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License. • BLS, ACLS, PALS and NIHSS certifications required. • BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross. • Traveler must pass the BCA testing during first week of assignment. Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed.
