Key Responsibilities:
• Provide occupational therapy services to patients, including assessments, treatments, and interventions to help them achieve their daily living and work-related goals.
• Collaborate with occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct home visits and other community-based assessments to identify patient needs and develop strategies for improvement.
• Use various occupational therapy techniques, including manual therapy, exercise, and adaptive equipment, to help patients overcome physical and cognitive limitations.
• Document patient progress and communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care.
Required Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in occupational therapy assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Current certification as an occupational therapy assistant (OTA) in the state of Louisiana.
• Valid Louisiana state license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
• Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility or other long-term care setting.
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
• Experience with occupational therapy software and electronic medical records.
