Registered Nurse PACU

Job Title: Registered Nurse - PACU

Location St. Louis, MO

Schedule / Job Type Rotating shifts as needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, acute post-anesthesia recovery unit (PACU) setting • Collaborate with surgical teams to recover patients from various surgical specialties, including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology • Manage patients' recovery from anesthesia, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing various procedures such as starting IVs, IV vasopressors, and ICP monitoring • Recognize and manage dysrhythmias, and administer blood products as needed • Perform phlebotomy and other basic patient care procedures • Work effectively in a team environment to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal outcomes

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with 1 year in a PACU setting • BLS certification • ACLS certification • Critical care experience, including experience in an inpatient setting and Level I Trauma Center • Phase I PACU certification • Dysrhythmia recognition and management skills • Blood product administration skills • Phlebotomy skills • Starting IVs and IV vasopressors skills • ICP monitoring skills • Care of ventilated patients skills

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center • Experience in a Magnet and Teaching Hospital • Familiarity with EPIC charting system • Experience with managing patients with complex medical conditions • Strong communication and teamwork skills
