Job Title: Tech - Surgical

Location: Kansas City, MO

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during operative procedures by carrying out tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors, and manipulating the endoscopic camera. • Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during heart surgical procedures. • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure. • Maintain the sterile field and ensure a safe working environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) certification from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). • Associate Degree, Vocational School Graduate, or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification. • Two years of prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with cardiac surgeries, including coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, and davinci assisted thoracoscopy. • Advanced skills in procedures performed on units: cardiac, general, vascular, neuro, spine, trauma, ortho, ortho/trauma, burn, ent, transplant, and robotic.
