Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Location: Fort Wayne, IN Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, 12-hour shifts, with 3 weekend shifts in every 4 weeks

Key Responsibilities: • Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit, managing a diverse population with various diagnoses and chronic illnesses • Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for patients, utilizing evidence-based practices and inter-professional communication • Perform various medical procedures, including colonoscopies, thoracents, bronchoscopies, and minor surgeries • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and other technology to document patient information and coordinate care • Manage medical equipment, such as IV pumps, wound vacs, heat/cooling pads, and telemetry monitoring devices

Required Qualifications: • Current IN State or compact RN license (or eligibility for licensure) • BLS certification • ACLS certification • Experience with Epic electronic record system • Minimum 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience in a medical-surgical setting • Experience at a facility with 600+ beds

Preferred Experience / Skills: • Experience with wound care management and IV therapy • Knowledge of heparin and insulin drip management • Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation • Certification in Arrt, CRT, or other relevant areas
