Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit, managing a diverse population of patients with various diagnoses and chronic illnesses. • Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for patients, utilizing evidence-based practices and inter-professional collaboration. • Manage a range of medical and surgical procedures, including colonoscopies, thoracents, paracenteses, bronchoscopies, and minor surgeries. • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) and other technology to document patient information and communicate with healthcare teams. • Administer medications, including IV therapy management, heparin, and insulin drips, as well as manage wound care and other interventions. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience as a Registered Nurse. • 1 year of experience at a facility with 600+ beds. • Current BLS and IN State or compact RN license. • Current certifications in ACLS, ARRT, CRT, and other relevant specialties. • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with Epic electronic medical records. • Knowledge of wound care and other interventions. • Experience with IV therapy management and medication administration. • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
