Registered Nurse Oncology
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Oncology Location Nashville, TN Schedule / Job Type Full-time Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult and pediatric patients undergoing radiation therapy and brachytherapy treatments • Collaborate with radiation therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and optimal treatment outcomes • Administer medications, including radiopharmaceuticals, and monitor patient response to treatment • Document patient information and progress in electronic medical records • Educate patients and families on treatment options, side effects, and self-care techniques • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and unit operations
Required Qualifications:
• Current RN licensure in the state of Tennessee • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification • 2+ years of experience in oncology nursing or related field • Knowledge of radiation oncology treatments, including external beam radiation therapy and brachytherapy • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience / Skills:
• Experience with radiation oncology equipment and technology • Knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals and their administration • Certification in oncology nursing or a related field • Experience with electronic medical records and quality improvement initiatives
