Key Responsibilities • Provides high-quality, patient-centered care to patients in the labor and delivery unit, utilizing the nursing process and ANA Scope and Standards of Practice. • Administers medications and treatments, monitors for side-effects and effectiveness, and documents patient history and care given. • Educates patients, families, and caregivers on learning needs and resources, identifying issues and providing solutions. • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Required Qualifications • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred) • 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty (preferred) • Current RN License in Texas or compact • Current BLS certification (AHA) • Current ACLS certification (AHA) • Current NRP certification (AHA) • Current certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring
Preferred Experience / Skills • Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a perinatal setting • Experience with labor and delivery unit operations and protocols
