Tech MLT/Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist

Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT)/Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS)
Location: State College, PA
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Days

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform blood and body fluid analyses for diagnostic and treatment purposes, ensuring prompt and accurate results.
• Prepare specimens with correct identification, logging, and proper testing in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities, reviewing results for accuracy and completeness before reporting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal operation and compliance with safety standards.
• Assist with training laboratory personnel and participate in proficiency testing and new procedure evaluations.
• Collect specimens from patients, verifying identification and communicating effectively with care teams regarding any delays.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related field.
• Certification as a licensed Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with ASCP, AMT, NCCLS, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and quality assurance standards.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Effective communication skills and professional rapport with hospital staff, patients, and visitors.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• No prior experience required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with both manual and automated laboratory testing methods.
• Experience with specimen collection and processing.
