Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Title: Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown
Location: Kansas City, MO
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, 13-week contract, Nights (3 X 12-hour shifts per week)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the IMC, PCU, and Stepdown units during night shifts.
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, monitor telemetry, and respond effectively to emergency situations.
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips, PCA, and sedation protocols, adhering to established guidelines.
• Manage IV therapy, including PICC lines, central lines, blood products, and venipuncture procedures.
• Support patients with neurological, cardiovascular, endocrine, gastrointestinal, renal, respiratory, and orthopedic needs, including post-procedure care and complex monitoring.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members and participate in on-call duties as required to ensure patient safety and care continuity.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of Missouri.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with prior charge nurse and teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Demonstrated skills in telemetry interpretation, emergency response, IV therapy, and complex patient care.
• Ability to float between units and adapt to various clinical settings as needed.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with AV fistulas, dialysis, and chemotherapy monitoring.
• Knowledge of wound care and isolation precautions.
• Experience with plastic surgical drains and respiratory devices such as BIPAP and HFNC.
