Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type: Nights, Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients in the Intermediate Care (IMC), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Stepdown units, managing an average census of 24-30 beds.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including post-neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, and renal failure cases.
• Utilize skills such as IV insulin protocols, wound care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and airway management including CPAP/BIPAP and tracheostomy care.
• Use dedicated equipment and electronic charting system (EPIC) to document patient progress and interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including rapid response teams, to ensure prompt and effective patient care.
• Perform weekend shifts, with a minimum of 8 required every 6 weeks, and participate in holiday coverage when scheduled.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas.
• BLS certification required.
• At least 2 years of recent RN experience in an acute care setting.
• Proficiency in IV therapy, airway management, and sterile procedures.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC preferred).

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience in IMC, PCU, or stepdown units.
• Knowledge of neuro, renal, trauma, or cardiac patient care.
• Ability to float within scope of practice across related units as needed.
