Job Title: Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory / Electrophysiology Tech
Location: Bloomington, IL
Schedule / Job Type: Days / Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field for specialized radiologic procedures, passing instruments and supplies to physicians during catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
- Assist in patient positioning, apply sterile techniques to catheter insertion sites, and explain procedures to alleviate patient anxiety.
- Operate complex radiologic equipment, including angiographic systems, digital subtraction devices, and power injectors, adjusting controls to acquire optimal imaging.
- Transfer and archive procedural images into the patient’s medical record system, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Monitor patients’ cardiovascular and pulmonary functions during procedures, recognizing abnormal rhythms or changes, and alerting physicians as necessary.
- Perform routine equipment checks, minor repairs, and assist in maintaining a clean and prepared procedure environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a two-year post-high school program at an accredited Radiologic Technology school.
- ARRT registered and licensed by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
- At least 1 year of experience performing radiologic special procedures in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures, with the ability to operate specialized angiographic and fluoroscopy equipment.
- Ability to provide age-appropriate patient care and demonstrate radiation safety practices.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Prior experience in a cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology lab.
- Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation of cardiac and pulmonary physiologic data.
- Experience working in a hospital or medical center environment with a focus on interventional procedures.
