Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum in a Level 3 labor and delivery unit.
• Assist with vaginal births, cesarean sections, and related surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including OB laborists, anesthesiologists, and NICU staff, to deliver comprehensive maternal care.
• Float to other IU facilities as required, maintaining flexibility and adherence to staffing guidelines.
• Follow AWHONN staffing ratios and complete all required documentation using Cerner charting system.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1.5 years of labor and delivery nursing experience.
• Valid nursing license in the state of Indiana.
• Ability to work 24-hour call shifts, including weekends and major holidays.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (advanced preferred).
• Must have 3 or 4 skill checklists completed, including IV start and charge nurse responsibilities.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience working in a fast-paced, Level 3 NICU environment.
• Previous experience with emergency procedures and surgical assistance in labor/delivery.
• Flexibility to float across multiple IU facilities and units.

Additional Information:

• This position involves working 8- or 12-hour shifts with guaranteed hours, including every third weekend.
• Must work at least 2 of the 3 major holidays.
• Certification and floating requirements are essential, with a hard stop for charge nurse duties.
• Note: Indiana-based RN travelers must meet specific eligibility criteria due to facility policies.
