Registered Nurse NICU
Job Title: Registered Nurse - NICU
Location: San Diego, CA
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, rotating shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in a Level 4 NICU setting
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor and manage critically ill newborns, including ventilation, line management, and post-operative care
- Float between units (PICU, CVICU, NICU satellite campuses) as needed, ensuring continuity of patient care
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards, including required certifications
Required Qualifications:
- Valid California RN license (pending license acceptance with ETA)
- Minimum of 2 years of recent NICU experience, with strong Level 4 neonatal care or surgical experience in a Level 3 NICU
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced NRP and PALS preferred
- Experience with ventilators (oscillators, conventional), specialty gases, line management (PICC, Broviacs, UAC, UVC), and neonatal lines (PAL lines, G-Tubes, trachs, ostomies)
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends, with full flexibility and no specific RTO restrictions
- Own transportation required
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Cardiac care experience in neonatal patients
- Experience with line changes involving multiple drips, pre and post-op neonatal care
- Ability to adapt to floating between units and satellite campuses, including Scripps, Palomar, and Rancho Springs
