• Provide comprehensive nursing care on general medical and surgical units for a diverse patient population with various diagnoses, including chronic illnesses, GI issues, infections, neurological conditions, and mental health disorders.
• Perform assessments, care planning, and execute procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, biopsies, minor surgeries, and wound management.
• Utilize equipment including IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and manage IV therapy, heparin, and insulin drips.
• Document patient care accurately using electronic health records and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patients with telemetry, administer medications, and manage intravenous therapies with a patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, including supplemental orientation and Epic training.
  Required Qualifications:
• Active RN license in Indiana or a compact state.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary hospital experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a facility with 600+ beds.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts with scheduled weekend shifts and floating to other medical units as needed.
  Preferred Experience / Skills:
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• Familiarity with managing complex patient care equipment such as wound vacs, feeding pumps, and telemetry monitoring.
• Previous experience managing IV medications, including heparin and insulin drips.
