Job Title: Surgical Tech

Location: Springfield, IL

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Days shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in operating room procedures across multiple specialties including general surgery, ENT, gynecology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastics, trauma, and urology.
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring adherence to aseptic and safety protocols.
• Support surgical team during open and minimally invasive procedures, including sterilization and instrumentation management.
• Float within scope of practice to support various departments and meet clinical needs.
• Participate in on-call duties as required, providing emergency coverage as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all facility policies, including fingerprinting, licensing, and safety standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist, with specific experience in general, ENT, gynecology, neurosurgery, orthopedic, plastic, trauma, and urology cases.
• BLS certification required; CST certification preferred.
• Ability to work days, weekends (once a month), and on-call shifts.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
• Must be in Illinois three business days prior to compliance requirements, including fingerprinting.
• Experience in trauma-level I hospital setting and teaching hospital environment.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with a broad range of surgical procedures including open and laparoscopic techniques.
• Familiarity with instrumentation such as drills, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic lighting.
• Knowledge of hospital safety and infection control protocols.
