Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in general medical and surgical units, managing a diverse patient population with conditions such as COPD, Diabetes, CHF, renal disease, GI issues, infections, neurological disorders, and mental health conditions.
  • Perform assessments, develop care plans, and execute interventions including wound care, medication administration, IV therapy, and utilization of medical equipment such as wound vacs, feeding pumps, chest tubes, and telemetry monitors.
  • Document patient information accurately using electronic health records (EHR) and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries.
  • Manage complex care needs including insulin and heparin drips, IV therapy, and VTE prevention devices.
  • Float between medical units as needed and adhere to hospital policies and safety protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Indiana or compact RN license.
  • Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care hospital settings.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a facility with 600+ beds.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Additional certifications such as ACLS or CRT/ARRT preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Experience with electronic health records, medication pumps, and telemetry monitoring.
  • Familiarity with managing complex patient cases and procedures.
  • Prior experience working in a hospital environment involving diverse medical conditions.

  • Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs.
  • Orientation includes hospital overview, nursing orientation, and Epic training.
  • Required to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a patient ratio of 1:5-6.
