Night Shifts / Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population in a general medical and surgical unit.
- Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement appropriate interventions.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and utilize the Electronic Health Record system.
- Monitor and manage IV therapy, wound vacs, feeding devices, chest tubes, and medication infusions including heparin and insulin drips.
- Assist with procedures such as colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort, adhering to unit protocols and safety standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in a Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary care facility.
- At least 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital with 600+ beds.
- Current Indiana or compact Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system and hospital equipment such as Pyxis, Hospira IV pumps, and telemetry monitors.
- Experience managing IV therapy, wound care, and telemetry monitoring.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience working in a medical-surgical unit with diverse patient diagnoses including chronic illnesses, infections, neurological, and mental health conditions.
- Familiarity with procedures such as endoscopies, minor surgeries, and management of complex medication drips.
- Ability to adapt and float across medical units as needed.

Shift/Schedule:
- Night shifts (12-hour shifts) with a schedule of 3 weekends every 4 weeks.
- Will float to other medical units based on patient care needs.
- Patient ratios approximately 1:5-6.
Additional Details:
- Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs.
- Orientation includes a one-day hospital overview, followed by approximately 5 days of nursing orientation and Epic training.
- Floating to other medical units/departments as required.
