Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Asheville, NC
Schedule / Job Type: Full-Time, Midshift (1:00 PM – 1:00 AM), Travel assignment (13 weeks)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency department patients in a fast-paced, high-volume trauma and stroke center.
  • Monitor and respond to patient needs, using advanced skills to perform procedures and ensure patient safety.
  • Document patient information accurately using the Cerner system and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Maintain a respectful and compassionate approach, adhering to departmental policies and guidelines.
  • Support triage, internal processing, and unit activities in a busy ED environment.
  • Float within the ED as needed, providing coverage across all sections of the department.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience as a registered nurse in a Level 2 trauma or comprehensive stroke center with high patient volumes.
  • At least 1 year of current emergency room nursing experience.
  • Valid RN license with appropriate state licensure.
  • Certifications required before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, ENPC (within 90 days).
  • Ability to work flexible hours including every other weekend.
  • Strong team collaboration and communication skills, with experience coaching and providing real-time feedback.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

  • Previous experience working in an HCA facility is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GE monitors and Baxter pumps.
  • Experience working in diverse, multicultural communities.

  • Dress code: Navy scrubs.
  • Floating policy: No floating outside of the ED but open to working across all ED sections.
  • No block scheduling required; scheduling will meet departmental needs.
