Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical care, injury prevention, and response during athletic events and after-school activities at a high school.
- Conduct injury assessments, evaluations, and create treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Manage concussion assessments, symptom monitoring, and supervise return-to-play protocols.
- Document evaluations and treatments, and communicate findings with athletes, parents, and coaches.
- Perform functional assessments, post-offer employment tests, and job-specific conditioning to support safe return to activity.
- Serve as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic, assisting with histories, scheduling, and patient education.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology.
- At least 1 year of related work experience.
- Valid Athletic Trainer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers.
- Current driver's license and BLS certification.
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal examinations, concussion management, emergency care, and occupational health.
- Excellent attention to detail, computer proficiency, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience working in a school or athletic setting.
- Familiarity with occupational health and injury prevention strategies.
