Job Title: Surgical Technologist
Location: Charleston, SC
Schedule / Job Type: Full-Time, Days, 3x12s, including one weekend shift every 4 weeks; on-call up to 4 shifts every 4 weeks; holiday rotation attached; potential for float within scope to meet facility needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in surgical procedures across a variety of specialties within a Level I Trauma Center.
• Prepare operating rooms and ensure all surgical equipment and supplies are sterile and ready.
• Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to efficiently support patient care during surgeries.
• Adapt to a busy, high-volume perioperative environment covering trauma, transplant, ortho, neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and robotic surgeries.
• Maintain compliance with all safety and infection control protocols, including radiation safety standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support the hospital’s emergency response during hurricane season as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technology experience.
• Certification: NBSTSA (MUSC does NOT accept NCCT).
• BLS certification.
• Radiation badge, provided by the agency.
• Ability to float within scope and work across various surgical specialties.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Prior experience in a Level I Trauma or teaching hospital preferred.
• Flexibility to work full spectrum of surgical cases and potentially accommodate block scheduling with manager approval.
• Experience with EPIC charting system.
