Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population from neonatal to geriatric.
  • Assist in the management and coordination of patient care, including performing ESI triage, administering IV infusions, and conducting EKGs.
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical records for documentation and patient management.
  • Support multidisciplinary team activities, including transports and procedures such as restraint application and procedural sedation.
  • Respond to trauma, stroke, and STEMI cases, ensuring timely transfer to higher levels of care when necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license with eligibility to work in Vermont.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent in-unit emergency department experience.
  • Previous travel nursing experience (at least one assignment).
  • Charge nurse experience required.
  • Current certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, ENPC, NRP, NIHSS, and TNCC (or proof of class with date applied).
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation, personal or rental vehicle, equipped for winter conditions if applicable.
  • Complete work history details, including employment gaps over 90 days, in application.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with trauma, stroke, or critical care patient management.
  • Familiarity with pediatric emergency protocols and higher-level transport.
  • Previous experience working in rural or Critical Access Hospitals.
