Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Full-time, 13-week contract, night shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides high-quality nursing care to patients in the Intermediate Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, or Stepdown areas, primarily managing ventilated patients with complex conditions.
• Collaborates with team members in a team nursing model, working alongside a PCT to optimize workload and patient care.
• Manages patient populations including COPD, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post-COVID recovery.
• Demonstrates proficiency with ventilator management, telemetry, and medication drips such as insulin, heparin, and Cardizem.
• Interprets EKG strips and adheres to safety protocols, including N95 fitting and PAPR readiness.
• Completes an online EKG tele competency assessment prior to orientation.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Ohio.
• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent ICU or stepdown experience (experience in Level 1 or 2 trauma units preferred) with documented 1:5 ratio work history.
• Experience with ventilator management, telemetry, and EPIC electronic health record system.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Must pass online EKG tele competency assessment before starting.
• Ability to interpret cardiac strips and patient data.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Travel nursing experience.
• Experience floating across multiple hospital campuses.
• Knowledge of team nursing models and high-acuity patient care.
• Experience managing high oxygen, high-vent, and high-risk patient populations.
