Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Full-time, 13-week contract (with manager preference for 16-20 weeks)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-acuity care on a fast-paced step-down unit, managing complex patient conditions such as DKA, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, stroke, sepsis, and urology complications
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret strips, and manage cardiac drips and ventilator/trach support
• Administer medications, including IV starts, chest tubes, and drains, ensuring patient safety and compliance with protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes
• Adhere to safety protocols, including fit testing for N95 masks and adherence to unit-specific guidelines
• Float as needed across multiple hospital campuses and specialty units, supporting various patient populations

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in a large, high-acuity hospital setting (Level 1 preferred)
• EPIC electronic medical record system experience
• Ventilator management experience and ability to interpret EKG strips; must pass an online EKG competency assessment prior to start
• Current BLS, ACLS certifications; NIH Stroke Certification preferred
• Valid nursing license for Ohio
• Ability to work every other weekend and holiday shifts

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience with high-risk respiratory units and COVID-19 support roles
• Travel nursing experience in acute care settings
• Ability to float between multiple hospital campuses within a short distance
